What’s the Difference Between Dermal Infusion, Dermaplaning & Microdermabrasion?

Dermal Infusion
Dermalinfusion is the newest of these three skincare treatments. AMAE Med Spa in Birmingham, MI is one of only a few Med Spas in the area to offer this advanced technology that combines three effective skin care treatments into one process.
This new, innovative, non-invasive treatment simultaneously combines exfoliation, extraction and serum infusion into a one-step skin resurfacing procedure. Pro-Infusion serums with medical strength and specifically formulated for each skin condition are applied in this process.
Dermalinfusion treatments provide many benefits by nourishing the skin, promoting new skin cell growth and eliminating impurities imbedded in the pores. This mega-exfoliant also stimulates the skin’s cellular renewal process and stimulates the body to produce more collagen – for smoother, plumper, healthier skin.
Dermalinfusion is ideal for treating the signs of aging, including: fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage and age spots. Dermal infusion also treats other causes of hyperpigmentation and dark spots, as well as improving rough skin texture or acne scarring on the face – as well as almost anywhere on the body.
Unlike dermaplaning and microdermabrasion, Dermalinfusion is one of the few skincare treatments that can be performed during the active stages of acne. And, when used on the body, Dermalinfusion can be highly effective at reducing cellulite as well as diminishing stretch marks.
What’s Better Dermaplaning, Dermal Infusion or Microdermabrasion?
The answer to this question depends upon the condition of your skin as well as your beauty goals. At AMAE Med Spa in Birmingham, MI our skilled aesthetician will carefully assess your skin and discuss your options so you can decide what is best for you.
Generally, dermaplaning is best for dry to normal skin and mild to moderate fine lines and wrinkles. Dermaplaning is also an excellent option for women who are bothered by “peach fuzz” or who are on-camera, under-the-spotlight, or who wear more makeup – as it removes the fine hairs that cause caking and offers a smooth “photo-finish”.
Microdermabrasion, on the other hand, is more well suited for the treatment of deeper lines and wrinkles, acne scarring, or skin with irregular texture. However, because it is more aggressive, microdermabrasion is not recommended for people with rosacea, broken capillaries or excessively dry skin.
For many patients Dermal Infusion provides “the best of both worlds” – providing deeper exfoliation as well as extraction and the infusion of nutrients. And both Dermal Infusion and Microdermabrasion can be combined with dermaplaning, if fine hairs are an issue.
