Different Types & Uses of Juvaderm

Juvéderm® is the #1 selling brand of injectable facial fillers used in the United States to add volume to different areas of the face without surgery.

Juvéderm® fillers are smooth, clear gels that are administered by an injection. However, Juvéderm is offered in different formulas, for use on specific area of the face. Different formulations of Juvéderm are approved to either lift the cheeks, smooth parentheses (“marionette”) lines around the mouth, smooth vertical lip lines, or plump the lips.

Juvéderm VOLUMA® XC: Facial Filler for Cheeks

Juvéderm VOLUMA® XC adds volume to the cheek area, and is typically used to correct age-related volume loss in the cheeks.

Voluma contains the thickest, strongest formula of Juvéderm – making it ideal for deep injection into the cheek area – offering maximum lift and the biggest volume boost.

Voluma is the longest lasting Juvéderm formulation, and may last up to two years, depending on type and number of treatment.

Juvéderm VOLBELLA® XC: Filler for Lips & Eyes

Juvéderm VOLBELLA® XC adds subtle, natural looking volume to lips. It also can be used to soften the appearance of vertical lip lines.

Volbella contains the thinnest, most spreadable formula of Juvéderm – making it ideal for filling fine lip lines, or even smoothing the delicate area under the eyes.

Because Volbella is the thinnest Juvéderm formula, its results may last slightly less than Voluma and Vollure. Typically Volbella facial injections last from six months up to one year.

And, in January of 2022, Allergan (the manufacturer of Juvéderm) announced that Juvéderm Volbella XC, was approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to address undereye hollows. Volbella is the first and dermal filler that is FDA-approved for use in the tear trough area. When used to treat under-eyes,  Volbella XC typically lasts a year or longer.

Juvéderm VOLLURE™ XC:  Facial Filler for “Parentheses” Lines

Juvéderm VOLLURE™ XC is most often used to fill and soften moderate to severe parentheses (“marionette”) lines and wrinkles – by adding subtle volume in the area around the nose and mouth.

Vollure combines a “happy medium” of Voluma and Volbella.   It can be injected a little more deeply to smooth more severe folds because it is thicker. And while it spreads a little less readily than Juvéderm Volbella, it is still soft enough to allow for natural facial expressions and movements.

Vollure results may last up to 18 months, which is slightly less than the stiffer more durable Voluma.

Juvéderm VOLUX™ XC:  Facial Filler for Jawline

Until recently, the only way to tighten a sagging jawline was with a surgical facelift or neck lift. But in 2021 Allergan announced Juvéderm, Volux – a new dermal filler specifically for jawlines. New Volux is a highly effective jawline filler that has the firm consistency of bone. Volux can immediately help achieve a more defined jawline with a just few injections – without surgery or downtime.

Juvéderm Skinvive: For Hydrated Skin

Skinvive is Juvéderm’s newest formula to rejuvenate and enhance the skin’s appearance. It harnesses the power of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body, to provide a refreshed and youthful look. Skinvive is used primarily for facial enhancement, addressing concerns like wrinkles, fine lines, and loss of volume, particularly in the cheeks and mid-face.

The treatment involves injecting hyaluronic acid just beneath the skin’s surface, where it acts as a hydrating agent and promotes collagen production. This results in improved skin texture, reduced wrinkles, and restored volume. Skinvive is known for its long-lasting effects, with results typically lasting for up to 18 months. It offers a non-invasive, convenient solution for those seeking facial rejuvenation without the need for surgical procedures.
