How Long do PRP Facial Results Last?
PRP facials stimulate cells to continue regenerating for 3 or more months after the procedure. Results of a PRP Facial typically last for well over a year. For the best results, we generally recommend a series of treatments, with 4-6 weeks between each PRP Facial, depending upon the degree of skin damage we are treating.
Do I Need to Prepare for a PRP Facial?
Patients should stop using any retinol or Retin A before your facial. Additionally, please notify Bloomfield Hills cosmetic surgeon Dr. Ali of any other medications or supplements you take regularly – or any underlying medical conditions you have.
Can Anyone Get a PRP Facial?
There is really no bad candidate for a PRP facial. We have patients at our Birmingham Med Spa who are in their 20s to their 70s. As long as a patient is healthy, with no underlying serious medical conditions, this safe and 100% natural skin renewal treatment is ideal for almost anybody.
Certain patients with a history of blood diseases, including clotting or bleeding disorders should generally avoid PRP injections or microneedling – however we offer a variety of other facial treatments that are safe for these patients.
Are PRP Facials Safe?
Because PRP Facials use the patient’s own blood it is a 100% safe and natural treatment – when performed in a licensed medical facility.
Why is it important to go to a Medical Doctor for a PRP Facial?
PRP is an intravenous treatment, and as such should always be performed in a physician’s office under sterile clinical conditions. Using a reputable medical practitioner – rather than going to a beauty salon or non-medical provider – ensures you will not get an infection, or experience skin damage or scarring.
In fact, recently, People who have gone to Mexico for “cheap” PRP facials have even been exposed to HIV. So you can see the importance of only going to a licensed medical provider for a PRP facial.
Are There Alternatives to PRP Facials if I Don’t’ Like Blood?
Yes, if you are not a candidate for PRP Facials, and/or you dislike the idea of blood, we also offer a wide variety of anti-aging and skin smoothing chemical-peels, laser and radiofrequency skin treatments in our Bloomfield Hills area Med Spa.
