What is a ZO Three Step Facial Peel?

The ZO Three Step Facial Peel is a highly effective facial peel that offers rapid renewal of the outer layer of skin, and stimulation of the deeper layers (dermis) – all with minimal irritation.

The ZO Facial Peel involves a proprietary three step process that provides antioxidant protection, DNA repair, and anti-inflammatories –all of which allow the facial skin to repair and renew itself, reducing many signs of skin aging – as well as remedying the effects of facemasks on the skin.

Three application steps are involved in the ZO Facial Peel:

• 10% trichloracetic acid, lactic acid & salicylic acid
• 6% retinol
• Antioxidant healing cream

How Do I Prepare for My ZO Three Step Peel Facial?

In order to obtain optimum results, always follow the instructions given to you by your aesthetician to prepare for your ZO facial.

Men should shave the treatment area one day before the scheduled treatment, unless instructed otherwise.

For 3 days before your ZO facial peel do NOT user: scrubs, exfoliants, skin bleaching creams, retinoids /retinol / Retin-A (or vitamin A compounds).

Do not apply any cream, lotion, perfume or makeup on the area to be treated on the day of your ZO facial peel.

Note: if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or using topical or oral antibiotics you should wait to get a ZO facial peel!

How Do I Care for my Face After My ZO Facial Peel?

Avoid washing your face for a minimum of 5 hours after your facial peel – and preferably wait until the following morning.

Our Aestheticians will give you a special ZO cleanser to wash your face with the day after the facial peel. Very gently wash for about forty seconds, then apply the entire packet of ZO Rentinol Crème and gently massage it into your facial skin. Rinse and pat dry.

You will also be given Calming Crème, with instructions for use.

Always avoid direct sunlight exposure for At least seven to ten days following the ZO facial peel. You can apply sunscreen after the skin has completely healed. Do not use alpha hydroxy acids, beta hydroxy acids, benzoyl peroxide, retinoids / retinols or other vitamin A compounds until the skin is completely healed.

Also, do not schedule any hair removal, microdermabrasion or laser treatments until the facial skin is completely healed.

What are the Side Effects of a ZO Facial Peel?

Your skin will be yellow from the ZO facial cream for 5 hours following the peel. You may also experience: red and peeling skin; tight feeling in the skin; mild stinging or discomfort; and possible some swelling or itchiness. The calming cream given to you will help with all of these symptoms!

How long after the ZO Facial Peel will my Skin be Peeling?

Typically, skin starts to peel the next day. By day 3 the skin will still appear flaky – and the main peeling is generally finished within 3 to 5 days. The skin peels fairly consistently, and isn’t very noticeable to other people.

By the seventh day you will usually be done peeling completely – revealing smoother more toned facial skin! However, the benefits of the facial will continue to be at work, as your deeper skin regenerates on a cellular level – leading to even more improvement ion elasticity, tone and fine lines over time.
