5 Unexpected Trends for Using Dermal Fillers
Most people who seek out aesthetic procedures such as dermal fillers wish to walk away from their procedure still looking natural. And while dermal fillers can provide famously natural-looking results to treatment areas such as the cheeks, lips, and forehead, those are far from the only locations that benefit from dermal filler treatment.
In this article, board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Ali outlines some of the more unexpected treatment areas to which dermal fillers can provide beautiful, natural-looking results.
1. Dermal Fillers for the Chin
When a patient comes to Troy, MI’s AMAE Med Spa and states that they are unhappy with their lips or the general symmetry of their face, the chin and jaw are usually to blame. But with dermal fillers, a weak chin can be strengthened, giving the lips a fuller appearance and an overall more symmetrical look to the face.
This is a particularly effective treatment for patients who grind their teeth while they sleep. The repetitive motion of teeth grinding can result in premature flattening of the chin. But by simply injecting dermal fillers into this area, the effect can be reversed almost immediately.
2. Dermal Fillers for the Ears
Whether caused simply by age, gravity, or even from wearing heavy earrings, dermal fillers are the perfect solution for Troy, MI patients experiencing saggy ears. When injected to the ears, dermal fillers add an unexpected element of rejuvenation to a person’s appearance. And best of all, patients who treat their ears with dermal fillers are not subject to any downtime (although they should wait a handful of days before putting their favorite earrings back on.)
3. Dermal Fillers for “Tech Neck”
Troy, MI patients dissatisfied with the wrinkly appearance of the skin on their neck have an answer in hyaluronic acid dermal fillers. Dermal fillers such as this provide relief from “Tech Neck,” a condition that -despite it’s playful-sounding nickname- is a source of great frustration for men and women all throughout the Troy, MI area.
“Tech Neck” refers to wrinkles that develop in the neck from spending an excessive amount of time looking down at one’s phone. “Tech Neck” wrinkles cannot be effectively treated with Botox due to the elasticity and mobility of the neck, but thanks to hyaluronic acid dermal fillers, there is still a solution.
When injected along the neckline, a single, tiny dose of hyaluronic acid filler will smooth out, plump, and fill in the wrinkles caused by “Tech Neck,” with results that can last as long as a year. The entire procedure only lasts about 10 minutes, and results from this incredible dermal filler procedure can be seen after just a few short days.
4. Dermal Fillers for the Hands
By age 25, the body stops producing collagen. When this occurs, the first area to visibly lose volume is typically the hands, an affect that can add years to a person’s appearance. But with dermal fillers, the effects of aging seen in the hands can be reversed. By plumping the hands with dermal fillers, the skin of the hands is smoothed out and veins become less noticeable.
5. Dermal Fillers for Under Eye Circles
Dark circles under the eyes are one of the most notoriously difficult features to get rid of. Many Troy, MI women have had no luck treating their dark circles with any number of creams or disguising them through concealer. With dark circles being primarily genetic, there used to be little that could be done to get rid of them. Now good dermal filler treatments can remedy this problem in many individuals – both women and men!
Dark circles are usually caused by a loss of volume in the tear trough of the eye, meaning they are easily treated through dermal fillers. All it takes is the expert hand of Troy, MI board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Ali to inject a layer of hyaluronic acid gel into the skin around the eye, and the skin will be lifted up from the blood vessels of the under eye area. And after a short day or two of minor redness and bruising, thanks to dermal fillers, the dark circles will be a thing of the past.
