ThermiEye FAQs
The eyes are one of the first places to show a person’s age. Years of UV sun exposure, combined with contractions from squinting, smiling, worrying and frowning can give rise to wrinkles, lines, “crows feet” and loose, saggy skin in the delicate area around the eyes.
Many people are already familiar with ThermiVa skin tightening and rejuvenation. Now AMAE Med Spa in Birmingham, MI offers a specialized ThermiVa treatment that safely and precisely rejuvenates the delicate skin in the eye area.
As an added bonus, in addition to combatting the signs of aging and smooth out the skin, ThermiEye radiofrequency treatments can also ThermiVa and, as a bonus, relieve dry eyes! In this article our certified ThermiVa experts answer our Birmingham, Mi patients’ frequently asked questions about ThermiEye.
What is ThermiEye?
ThermiSmooth Eyes – sometimes just called “ThermiEye”- is a precise and targeted form of TheriSmooth that is performed by using a very small temperature-controlled hand piece to safely treat and rejuvenate the delicate skin around the eyes.
ThermiEye is one of the most revolutionary and versatile technologies for antiaging in the eye area on the market. While most lasers treatments are unsafe to be used around the eyes, ThermiEye uses gentle RadioFrequency energy to contract, tighten, plump and rejuvenate the skin above, below and around the eyes.
How Does ThermiEye work?
An advanced, temperature-controlled handpiece combines the healing powers of blue light with infrared red light. In addition to having antibacterial properties, these light frequencies drain the lymphatic system of fluids that can cause eyes to puff or develop bags. Additionally, the thermal light energy promotes the production of keratin and elastin, which are the skin-strengthening compounds that give the eye area structure and lift.
Further, ThermiEye emits a galvanic current as well as micro-vibrations to soothe skin and reduce puffiness and dark circles under your eyes.
What Results Can I Expect with ThermiEyes?
With ThermiEyes, patients typically experience a notable immediate change in the appearance of the area around the eyes, that improves over the next several months as the body continues to produce renewed levels of collagen, keratin, elastin and hyaluronic acid.
Skin will be tighter, lifted, less “crepey”. Visible lines and wrinkles, dark circles and puffiness or “bags” will be softened and reduced. As a bonus, the tightened skin and remodeled collagen also improves the quality of the body’s tears, which helps to relieve dry eye.
You may appreciate a notable change in your look after just one session, but you see optimal benefits in three to six sessions. A yearly maintenance session can also help you preserve your results.
Is there Downtime After ThermiEyes treatment?
No! Because ThermiEyes is a noninvasive, nonablative treatment that leaves the skin intact, it requires no downtime. Patients can even wear contacts lenses and/or apply makeup immediately after their ThermiEyes session.
Some patients may have slight redness and swelling, but this typically resolves within a few hours.
What is a ThermiEye Treatment Like?
ThermiEye treatments take just 10 to 15 minutes per eye. First, a cooling gel is applied to the treatment area. Then the aesthetician moves the small handheld device around the treatment area in a gentle circular pattern. The ThermiEye handpiece automatically adapts its temperature in response to the skin to ensure that the procedure remains safe and comfortable, as well as effective.
Does ThermiEye Treatment Hurt?
No. ThermiEye treatment is virtually pain-free. Most of our Birmingham, MI area patients liken it to a hot stone massage. It is a relaxing and pampering experience in our luxurious Birmingham, MI med spa.
