Profound vs. Morpheus8 Radiofrequency Microneedling

Both manufacturers are world leaders in cosmetic treatments. And both treatments are nothing short of revolutionary. So which radiofrequency microneedling procedure is best and/or better for you? In this article our skilled and certified radiofrequency experts discuss the similarities and differences between these two amazing skins tightening and rejuvenating procedures.

Profound Radiofrequency Microneedling

Profound RF, however, delivers its radiofrequency energy for 4 times as long as Morpheus8. So the micro-needles are inserted and then the RF energy is delivered for 4 seconds as opposed to 1 second.

And, while most radiofrequency devices like Morpheus8 heat the lower layers of the skin (the dermis) to 42 degrees C, Profound RF heats facial tissue to 67 degrees C, therefore stimulating a much stronger response.

The advantage to this very powerful and prolonged increase in energy delivery is long lasting collagen production from just a single treatment. And that those results also are very stable, with results lasting for 2 to 3 years or longer. And, the lower temperature of Profound also melts unwanted fat under the skin – such as the fat pad under the chin – to give a more refined, contour and sculpted look (especially in the jawline.)

In clinical studies Profound RF showed an unprecedented 100% response rate for reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and an unparalleled 95% response rate for tightening sagging skin.

Typically, patients only require a single Profound treatment because it is so strong.

However, because of the strength of the treatment, after their Profound treatment, patients can expect a full 3 to seven days of swelling and redness and bruising. There is also often an appearance of tiny red dots on the treated area along with shedding or peeling of the skin which can last up to a week.

Morpheus8 Radiofrequency Microneedling

Morpheus8 RF Microneedling, though less powerful than Profound, can offer similar results but with very minimal to no downtime or recovery period. The skin will typically feel hot and red following Morpheus8 treatment, but this can go away as soon as 4 to 24 hours.

While results will generally be seen after just one treatment, a course of three sessions (spaced 3 weeks apart) is usually required to achieve optimal skin rejuvenating results. Morpheus8 RF Microneedling last from 1 year to 3 years – so it’s longevity may be slightly less than Profound. But annual maintenance treatments can help ensure that the results last as long as possible.

As an added consideration, Morpheus8 is typically less expensive than Profound – but this too varies, especially depending upon the number of sessions needed and the specials or packages that we are running at any given time.
