Belotero Dermal Filler
What Belotero Dermal Fillers Do:
Introduced to the market relatively recently, Belotero dermal fillers are used to get rid of fine lines around the eyes and mouth. Belotero dermal fillers can also add volume to the under-eye area as well as to the cheeks. Highly effective, a single Belotero dermal treatment can significantly restore the shape and contours of healthy facial features.
Belotero dermal fillers are a perfect solution for hollow cheekbones, lip lines, marionette lines, nasolabial folds, and crows feet.
How Belotero Dermal Fillers Work:
Belotero dermal fillers are made with the ingredient Hyaluronic Acid (HA), which binds with the water in the patient’s skin add subtle volume to wrinkles and lines.
Some Belotero products are more voluminous than others, and as a result are ideal for adding fullness to the cheeks, lips, and chin.
Belotero dermal filler patients are able to see the results of their procedure almost immediately, with results only continuing to improve as the HA continues to stimulate the production of collagen.
How Long Belotero Dermal Fillers Last:
Depending on the particular dermal filler used, Belotero products should last from 6 to 18 months. Belotero Basic/Belotero balance, for example, last up to six months as a means of correcting moderate lines or enhancing the lips. Conversely, the dermal filler Belotero Soft can last up to twice that length when enhancing the lips or treating fine lines. The dermal filler Belotero Intense can also last up to 12 months and is used for lip enhancement and to correct deep lines. Finally, Belotero Volume, when used to increase volume in the temples or cheeks, can last up to 18 months.
What Isn’t a Dermal Filler: Botox & Kybella
While also injectables, products like Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin, are not dermal fillers. Products such as these are instead wrinkle relaxers, and work completely differently from dermal fillers. Dermal fillers enhance and add volume to the treatment area, while wrinkle relaxers temporarily paralyze the muscles responsible for causing the problem in the treatment area. While these two classes of product are very different, they can -and frequently are- used in tandem with each other.
Similarly, Kybella, while it is injectable, sculpts and contours the jawline and chin – but is not a dermal filler. Rather it works by dissolving the submental fat under the chin for a more defined jaw.
