IAPAM’s 2022 Predictions for Aesthetic Treatment Trends
It’s hard to believe that January and February have flown by, and March is almost here! As we get ready to move into much-awaited springtime, the International Association for Physicians in Aesthetic Medicine (IAPAM) have released their predictions for the biggest aesthetic treatment trends in 2022.
With more people spending time on Zoom and video conferencing, IAPAM notes that men and women of all age groups are now noticing their outward appearance more. This has given rise to more men, as well as more patients over age 50 considering aesthetic treatments.
Additionally, IAPAM’s statistic indicate that non-invasive aesthetic procedures will continue to rise in popularity in 2022. This comes as no surprise to the aesthetic treatment experts at AMAE Med Spa in Birmingham, MI – as we remain ‘ahead of the curve’ investing in several of the lasted laser and radiofrequency facial rejuvenation treatments.
In this article the aesthetic treatment experts at AMAE in Birmingham, MI take a look at the IAPAM’s prognostications.
Top 4 Aesthetic Trends for 2022
#1. Aesthetic Treatment Trend: Botox® and Facial Fillers
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to predict that Botox® and facial fillers (like Juvéderm) will continue to remain on the rise and hold their title as the world’s most popular aesthetic treatments.
Botox and facial fillers are the most immediate and affordable aesthetic treatments for instantly taking years of one’s appearance – so you look good on Zoom, in selfies, and “IRL.”
#2. Aesthetic Treatment Trend: Non-Surgical Nose Job
This relatively new aesthetic treatment is rapidly gaining popularity – because it can achieve some of the results of a “nose job” (rhinoplasty) but without surgery.
A non-surgical nose-job uses a firmer formula of injectable filler – such as Juvéderm Volux – to reshape the nose. While only rhinoplasty surgery can reduce the size of the nose, dermal fillers are ideal for people who are looking to create nostril symmetry or smooth out bumps in the bridge of the nose.
#3. Aesthetic Treatment Trend: Non-Surgical Facial Tightening
Proteins such as collagen and elastin form the scaffolding of the skin – giving it the structure, plumpness, and elasticity of youth. As a person ages, the slower the production of these proteins become, and skin begins to sag, droop and loose it’s “snap back”.
At AMAE Med Spa in Birmingham, MI we have invested in several laser and radiofrequency skin tightening technologies that restore collagen and elastin for smoother, firmer tighter skin. These technologies include Profound Skin Tightening, CO2RE, Morpheus8 Microneedling and IPL Photofacial.
Non-Surgical facial tightening is less expensive than facelift surgery and comes with minimal or no downtime, depending on the aesthetic treatment you choose.
#4. Aesthetic Treatment Trend: Face & Body Chemical Peels
The stress of the pandemic as well as the skin irritation and acne caused by face masks (“maskne”) have left many people’s skin in poor condition. So, it’s no surprise that chemical peels for the face are one of this year’s top aesthetic treatments. Chemical peels can smooth out and improve the texture of one’s skin, clear clog pores, heal and prevent acne breakouts, and give one’s complexion that overall healthy glow.
More surprising, however, is the rapidly growing popularity of chemical peels for the body. Chemical peels using more heavy-duty chemical exfoliation can eliminate back acne (“backne”), minimize scars, reverse blotchy skin, and hyperpigmentation, and resurface even skin textures, for silky smooth skin on the body as well as the face.
The International Association for Physicians in Aesthetic Medicine (IAPAM) also note in their report that colder months like March are actually the perfect time to get a chemical peel since the cooler temperature plus less time spent in the sun’s UV rays help with rapid recovery.
