PRP Hair Loss Treatments Proven Effective in Clinical Studies
PRP hair loss treatment (“Platelet Rich Plasma”) is a non-surgical hair restoration procedure that is 100% natural. PPR hair loss treatment is one of the most effective hair loss treatments on the market for both men and women.
In this article, we will discuss the clinically proven results of PRP hair loss treatment’s effectiveness. If you are in the Macomb County area and are interested in hair loss treatment, contact the AMAE med spa to find out why PRP hair loss treatment may be the hair restoration miracle solution you’ve been searching for.
PRP Hair Loss Treatment Study – 2014
While the news coverage and social media presence of PRP hair loss treatment has grown substantially in the recent past, clinical studies of PRP hair loss treatment have been conducted consistently over the last five years.
One such study, covered in the April-June 2014 issue of Journal of Cutaneous and Aesthetic Surgery, was conducted to determine the effectiveness of PRP hairloss treatment on male pattern baldness (a condition with something of a misnomer, as it is commonly found in both men and women.)
The study saw PRP hair loss treatment administered to patients suffering from androgenic alopecia, all of whom previously saw no improvement after using topical minoxidil and finasteride for at least six months.
Over the course of the study, substantial decreases in hair loss was visible after the patients’ first and fourth injections of PRP hair loss treatment. The patients saw an average number of hair follicles per square inch of scalp increasing by 30 percent, from 71 hair follicles per cm2 to 93 per cm2.
Patients reported overall satisfaction with PRP hair loss treatment, with the clinical study concluding that PRP hair loss treatment was both feasible and cost effective as a treatment for androgenic alopecia.
PRP Hair Loss Treatment Study – 2019
The Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology’s March 2019 issue published another controlled study of the platelet number and growth factors of PRP hair loss.
The study saw 13 patients injected with four PRP hair loss treatments, with a “control” group of 13 additional patients given injections of saline solution. The patients’ hair follicles were evaluated three times: once before the treatment, 15 days after their final treatment, and then once more after three months.
The PRP hair loss treatment group saw a substantial increase in percentage of hairs, as well as increased hair count and density, while the control group saw no hair increase whatsoever. The study concluded that PRP hair loss treatment was a promising therapeutic treatment for individuals suffering from androgenetic alopecia.
