Does it Hurt to Get Juvéderm?
Juvéderm® facial filler formulas that include “XC” contain pain-reducing lidocaine, to minimize any pain or discomfort during the injection.
Doctor Ali may also apply topical numbing cream or ice, to further minimize any discomfort. He will discuss your pain management options with your thoroughly before he administers your facial fillers.
When will I See Results with Juvéderm?
Typically, patients will see results immediately! And while there will be dramatic results instantly, your appearance will continue to improve over a two week period.
Who Can Get get Juvéderm?
Most adults who are in good health are candidates for Juvéderm facial fillers. Juvéderm is FDA approved for use in the lips for lip augmentation and for correction of lines, in adults over the age of 21. We have used Juvéderm fillers with great results on women of all ages from their twenties into their 70s!
Both women and men can achieve a more youthful appearance with Juvéderm!
Patients should not receive Juvéderm® injectable facial fillers if they have a history of severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis), or are allergic to lidocaine or the Gram-positive bacterial proteins used to make hyaluronic acid.
If a patient has herpes simplex virus (“cold sores”) they should contact their physician for treatment as if they were experiencing an outbreak. Juvéderm does not cause outbreaks, but can trigger a non-active outbreak.
Women should who are pregnant, nursing or may become pregnant, should wait to obtain Juvéderm facial fillers.
Patients who are using medications that can prolong bleeding (such as blood thinners) may experience increased bruising or bleeding at the Juvéderm injection site, and should consult with their personal doctor before getting any facial fillers.
How Much Does Juvéderm Cost?
Juvéderm is typically priced by the “cc”. One cc (“cubic centimeter”) is the same amount as one milliliter (1 ml). The amount of Juvéderm you will need per treatment will depend upon the area of the face being filled, as well as the depth of the lines. Longer and deeper lines obviously need more gel to fill them!
On average, most clients require from .4 to 1 cc of Juvéderm to fill an area. At our Birmingham, MI MedSpa we currently charge $395 for .4cc and $595 for 1 cc of Juvéderm. Certain formulations of Juvéderm – including Voluma and Volbella – may cost slightly more.
Remember, this cost not only includes the price of the product, but more importantly, the skill and expertise of the licensed, trained, and experienced doctor or nurse who will be administering your treatment.
Be very careful of discount products or “cheap” Juvéderm® treatments. Like anything else, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
