How DiamondGlow Treatments for Acne Works

DiamondGlow acne treatment is performed using a “three-in-one” procedure. It is equipped with an actual diamond plate that gently exfoliates dead, dry skin and a low-pressure vacuum that sucks the dead skin, oil, “sebum,” and gunk out of the pores. Simultaneously, a serum-filled chamber infuses customized antibacterial acne-fighting serums deep into the pores.
The tool itself is actually no wider than an inch. Our Aesthetician will gently apply the diamond tip across the face for about 20 minutes. The tip exfoliates dead skin cells and rubs off any dirt and debris – while the handpiece sucks the “gross” stuff out of the pores and injects them with acne fighting serum.

The process is not painful. In fact, many patients find it relaxing. And – unlike with most exfoliating treatments that leave the face embarrassingly red for a day or more – there is no downtime after DiamondGlow. So, teens can return to their social and classroom activities immediately – with no one knowing they had a treatment performed.

Teen patients will see substantial results after their first “speed clearing” DiamondGlow treatment – but a series of treatments will deliver even more dramatic results. The optimal number of treatments will depend on how severe and widespread the acne is. For the treatment of inflammatory acne, we typically recommend 4 to 6 treatments, spaced about 2 to 4 weeks apart.

The DiamondGlow Acne Treatment Serum

A number of different serums can be used for application during DiamondGlow. Each serum is specially formulated with ingredients to treat a unique skin problem.

For treating active acne Pore Clarifying Pro-Infusion Serum (containing salicylic acid & other ingredients) is typically chosen by our skilled nurses and medical aestheticians. This serum is pushed deep into pores with the pressurized handpiece to essentially power-blast pores and clear them out, while killing acne bacteria. The addition of a brightening serum can also fade existing acne scars from previous breakouts.

And here’s another especially great thing about dermalinfusion: unlike many other acne treatments, dermalinfusion can be administered even during active, “inflammatory” acne breakouts! In other words, dermalinfusion treats acne while it’s happening, for reduced pimples, redness, and eruptions.
