Microneedling FAQs (Part 1)
We have helped hundreds of women and men in Birmingham, West Bloomfield, Troy, and across Oakland County look younger with non-surgical microneedling!
In this three part article we answer all of your questions about Microneedling!
What is Microneedling?
Microneedling is a new, minimally-invasive, highly effective treatment for anti-aging, wrinkle reduction and skin resurfacing.
Microneedling has the advantage of being able to be used on sensitive and fragile areas (including eyes, neck, and back of hands) that may not be treated easily with other procedures.
Microneedling is a skin treatment procedure performed with a skin-needling device containing extremely fine-gauge needles. When microneedling is performed, the small skin punctures promote skin cell generation.
This production of new cells leads to the creation of new elastin and collagen fiber, as well as resulting in improved blood flow to the skin.
How does Microneedling work?
The microneedling procedure begins with a clinical grade microneedling device slides along the skin and pushes through roughly 2 to 3 mm of skin layers, creating tiny needle wounds.
This triggers the body to produce elastin fibers and collagen; making the skin fuller and diminishing the appearance of lines, wrinkles, and scars.
What conditions can be treated with Microneedling?
Some of the conditions that Microneedling can treat and dramatically improve are: mild to moderate acne scarring,
- fine lines and wrinkles
- sagging skin
- poor skin texture
- acne scars or pockmarks
- large pore size
- stretch marks
What is the Microneedling Procedure?
Microneedling clients can expect their procedure to begin with cleaning and anesthetizing of the skin. Following this, a small device containing tiny micro-gauge needles will create a series of tiny pin-prick wounds on the surface of the skin.
Following this, a special serum (typically comprised of Vitamin-C and Hyaluronic acid) will be applied to the skin to help heal, hydrate, regenerate and protect the skin.
What will I look like after Microneedling?
In the first 24-48 hours after your treatment at our West Bloomfield area Med Spa you may notice minor redness or swelling of the skin in the treated area. This redness is typically no more severe than a mild sunburn, and following the completed healing process, will leave your skin looking smoother and more radiant than ever after about a week.
Within the next several months, you’ll notice the full result of your microneedling, and your skin will look better than ever.
