Who Is a Good Candidate for CoolSculpting?
According to the Journal of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, body contouring procedures have become one of the most popular cosmetic treatments in the United States. But with body contouring treatments like liposuction being not only invasive, but also accompanied by lengthy downtime and a whole host of medical risks, many Macomb County area individuals instead turn to treatments like CoolSculpting.
In this article Dr. Ali, a Macomb County area board-certified plastic surgeon and owner of AMAE Med Spa which offers CoolSculpting, explains what you can expect from the treatment, and who’s a good candidate for this amazing fat loss procedure.
What Is Coolsculpting?
Developed in 2010 by a team of Harvard Scientists, CoolSculpting (also known as cryolipolysis) is an incredible, non-invasive method of body contouring. CoolSculpting provides permanent fat loss by lowering the temperature of fat cells to the point of destruction. Over the next 8 to 12 weeks, the body will then eliminate the destroyed fat cells through natural processes, leaving the CoolSculpting treatment area permanently free from unwanted fat.
Who Is a Good Candidate for CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting works best when used to treat unwanted deposits of fat that refuse to respond to diet and exercise. For this reason, almost anyone in the Macomb County area who wishes to treat such an issue can do so through CoolSculpting.
At our Macomb County area medical spa, the most common areas we treat with CoolSculpting are the abdomen, the thighs, the back, and “love handles.” However, CoolSculpting can be safely performed on a wide variety of areas, including the arms and under the chin.
CoolSculpting is not a weight loss procedure – but it IS an inch loss procedure. It is a great treatment for almost anyone within 30 lbs. of their target body weight, who has stubborn pockets of fat that do not respond to diet or exercise.
The procedure takes less than an hour. And because there is no downtime, CoolSculpting can fit into any busy lifestyle. And if cost is an issue, we offer easy financing options – so you can get the fat loss treatment you want right away.
Who Is NOT a Good Candidate for CoolSculpting?
At AMAE Med Spa, we remind our Macomb County area patients that CoolSculpting is not designed to get rid of exceptionally large deposits of fat, and as such, cannot be used to treat obesity. Patients need to lose more than 25 or 30 lbs are better suited seeking out other body contouring procedures. This is also true of patients who wish for an overall reduction of fat that is widespread across their body.
CoolSculpting is also designed only to target subcutaneous fat (fat located under the skin). Fat behind the muscle inside the abdomen (called visceral fat) can only be reduced through the calorie-burning incurred through diet and exercise.
Macomb County area patients should also avoid CoolSculpting if they suffer from medical conditions related specifically to exposure to the cold. Board certified Macomb County area plastic surgeon Dr. Ali will discuss your medical history during your consultation, and will determine whether or not CoolSculpting is the safest, most effective way to reach your desired body contouring outcome.
Celebrities Who Have had CoolSculpting
CoolSculpting has also proven popular among a number of noteworthy celebrities. Media icons Khloe Kardashian and Kris Jenner have both publicly expressed satisfaction with the results of their CoolSculpting treatment. Additionally, supermodel Molly Sims has been a vocal proponent of CoolSculpting, which she underwent in 2016 following the birth of her second child.
But you don’t need to attend red carpet events in order to look red-carpet ready. At AMAE Med Spa in the Macomb County Area, we offer our patients the opportunity to look at feel as incredible as their favorite celebrities with affordable, painless CoolSculpting.
