Jennifer Got CoolSculpting – Here’s Her Experience

Christmas is coming and this year our patient Jennifer R. (age 53) has her company holiday party to attend, her husband’s work Christmas party to go to, and she will be seeing several out of town relatives at a niece’s New Year’s Eve wedding. That’s lots of incentive to try and lose some fat, and look her best!

But with her busy work schedule – and the body changes accompanying menopause – Jennifer simply hasn’t been able to get rid of that stubborn fat on her belly and flanks that she calls her “pouch” and her “muffin top.” (“Muffin top” is a slang phrase which here means “a layer of fat that hangs down over one’s waistline,” usually used in reference to women. Men afflicted by this same phenomenon might be described as having a “beer belly.” )

So at the end of summer, Jennifer – a lifelong resident of Macomb County – took steps to finally get rid of the unwanted fat of her “muffin top” once and for all – and visited AMAE Med Spa for treatment with CoolSculpting. Read on to find out how this incredible procedure helped Jennifer get into shape for the upcoming holiday season.

Jennifer’s CoolSculpting Procedure

At the onset of Jennifer’s CoolSculpting procedure, she found herself seated in a recliner, while licensed and trained technician Our Aestheticians fitted Jennifer’s abdomen and flanks with the CoolSculpting applicator … which Jennifer thought bore a resemblance to some kind of futuristic vacuum cleaner! Then, through a combination of suction and freezing temperatures, the CoolSculpting applicator targeted the fat cells of the treatment area and froze them until they were destroyed. “While it was absolutely cold,” Jennifer later reported, “the procedure was not at all painful. I’m really glad I chose CoolSculpting over liposuction or something more invasive and painful.”

Jennifer’s painless experience is far from unique. Cryolipoysis (the medical name for the CoolSculpting process ) has a reputation of being one of the least-painful methods of body contouring on the market. After a brief 35 minutes, the freezing portion of Jennifer’s CoolSculpting session was complete. Upon completion of her treatment,  Our Aestheticians noticed that within the treatment area, a small lump had developed -similar in shape and size to a stick of butter – which is normal. Through a simple massaging process, that resembles how one might knead dough, Our Aestheticians was able to remove the bulge.

Bulges such as these are a perfectly safe and somewhat common side effect of the CoolSculpting process, and as Our Aestheticians emphasized to Jennifer, it is “no cause for alarm.” Lumps such as these are, in reality, simply clusters of dead fat cells frozen through CoolSculpting. By breaking them down through the rubbing process, the body will then be able to discard them, eventually delivering the incredible results for which CoolSculpting has become famous.

All told, Jennifer’s entire CoolSculpting appointment took only around 45 minutes to complete!

Jennifer Loses Her Muffin Top with CoolSculpting

Jennifer checked in with us this week – 6 weeks after her procedure – and she was already fitting into her favorite skinny jeans – without a muffin top bulging over. And as Jennifer’s body continues to naturally dispose of the destroyed fat cells, she will be even more trim and toned by the time those holiday parties roll around. As a woman who is in the middle of experiencing menopause, the 53 year old Macomb County resident admitted that, without CoolSculpting, she “never would have been able to reach my target size by the holidays.”

Jennifer was right on track to schedule her CoolSculpting treatment when she did, as total results from the procedure take approximately three months or so to become visible!
