How Sculptra Fights the Signs of Aging

Collagen loss is one of the main causes of visible skin aging. As people age, their bodies naturally begin to produce less collagen, which is a core structural element of plump, youthful-looking skin. In addition to aging, sun exposure, smoking, weight fluctuations and other environmental factors, can cause fine lines, wrinkles and folds in the skin to appear.

Many consumers buy collagen-enriched creams that claim to help with anti-aging, but they can’t remedy the loss of collagen that happens below the skin. Sculptra, on the other hand, actually increases the body’s collagen production in the deeper layers of the skin to renew it from the inside out.

For example, applying an ice pack to the injection site every so often can help reduce any mild bruising and/or swelling. (Be sure the pack is wrapped so the ice does not come in contact with skin in the treatment area.)
